‘Luminous Words’, is a series of illustrations with touching narratives, in the fashion of a comic strip. The series is inspired by, and quotes excerpts from the Addresses of His Majesty The King.
His Majesty’s Addresses inspire us because they lift us out of the everyday and let us look at the larger picture– we begin to think about why we do what we do, and for whom. They imbue our actions and existence with that most vital of all things in life– a profound sense of purpose. And as we look ahead into the future together as one people, united in our objectives, His Majesty also inspires us to achieve great things.

Facing Challenges
Excerpt from a Royal Address at the 11th Convocation of Sherubtse College, April 2007.
“I’ve always believed that every challenge can be changed into an opportunity. Today I know that our country faces many challenges, and we will face more challenges in the years ahead. But I believe that if we always plan ahead, if we approach our challenges intelligently, if we work hard, then not only can we overcome those challenges, but every challenge that we are faced with can be changed into an opportunity.”
I think you are most fortunate to have the King and Queen you have right now. There is something very special about them. Their young son is beautiful, it looks like the whole country loves him, and his parents. I have enjoyed the calendars you put out each month, and look forward to seeing more of them and your beautiful country.
