People living with disabilities are often stigmatised, and the perception held by the society and their families is that they are helpless. This special documentary produced by the Queen’s Project looks at the lives of some of the people in Bhutan living with disabilities, and shows how there are many organisations and state systems in place to empower persons with disabilities. Many persons with disabilities are not only leading successful, independent lives, but also looking after their families. Living with a disability doesn’t mean living without hope.
Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen is the Royal Patron for Ability Bhutan Society, and works closely with organisations that support children with disabilities.
